Exquisite open-frame mechanical corkscrew from the 1880s. This is the L'EXCELSIOR with a large Boar-Tusk handle and a Sterling Silver Cap, marked sterling 119. The top of the button is marked L'EXCELSIOR, A. G. BTE S.G.D.G. PARIS.
French Patent, by Armand Guichard’s French Patent No. 138,887 of November 25, 1880.
Circa, 1880s
Measures, 7” tall, 7” wide at handle.
Marked: L'EXCELSIOR, A. G. BTE S.G.D.G. PARIS.
Condition: some finish wear from age and use.
