Antique 19th-Century British King's Rack, Rack & Pinion Mechanical Corkscrew
Amazing find, this 19th-century British King's Rack corkscrew. This is a Rack & Pinion mechanical corkscrew, made with brass barrel housing and bovine bone handles. The top handle has a horsehair dusting brush for cleaning the dust off the bottle before opening
Badge marked "Ne Plus Ultra, Patent". The worm (corkscrew) is a wire helix design, straight and true, with a sharp tip. This is in amazing condition, a true collector's dream.
This corkscrew has been in a private collection for the past 40 years.
Circa: 1850s
Marked: Ne Plus Ultra, Patented.
Measures: 8” tall, 4¼” wide at handle.
Condition: wonderful with light normal wear. Bone handles are solid, with a minor chip on the smaller handle, shown in pictures.
