Antique 1880 Bartholomay Brewery Corkscrew, Silver-Capped Springbok Horn Handle.
Amazing find, this mid/late 1800s Corkscrew, marked Bartholomay, Rochester. Bartholomay was a pre-Prohibition brewery operating in Rochester, NY. This would have been a promotional item. The corkscrew was made in Germany.
The handle is amazing, measuring 8¼” wide. Made from a Male Springbok and capped at the end with a silver dome. The worm (corkscrew) is 4 ½” long and marked on two sides Bartholomay Rochester and Germany at the top of the shaft. It is a single piece of square-stock steel turned; the worm is known as a bladed worm, and the outer edge is sharp to cut through the cork with ease.
If you want an extraordinary gift, this unique antique corkscrew would be amazing.
This corkscrew has been in a private collection for the past 40 years.

Measures: 7½” tall, 8¼” wide at handle.
Condition: wonderful with light normal wear. The horn handle is solid, with no visible damage.
