Wonderful find, this beautiful Pig Corkscrew with a Sterling Silver cap.
Made of a large pig handle with a sterling silver end with a beautiful scroll design around the edge. The bell above the corkscrew is a Walker Company design from 1890, known as a self-pull, keep turning the handle, and the cork will be pulled from the bottle. The worm (corkscrew) is known as a bladed style with the outer edge designed to cut through the cork with ease.
The Sterling silver cap is marked with (Sterling 91) on the end. The Sterling end cap has been monogrammed; (JLC)
This corkscrew has been in a private collection for the past 40 years.
Circa: 1890-1900
Measurements: 5½” tall, 7” wide at handle.
Condition: Stunning.
