Antique Griswold Cast Iron, Tobacco Cutter, Star Tobacco
Wonderful find: a beautiful 1880s tobacco plug cutter made by The Griswold Manufacturing Company of Erie, PA (Yes, the same Griswold that made the famous cast-iron skillets). The cutter was manufactured for the Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company of St. Louis, Missouri, to advertise their Star Brand plug tobacco.
Made of cast iron with a steel cutting blade, this cutter is still in amazing condition. This is the original black paint with gold pin stripping. We have gently cleaned the finish, but please note that it was used and that there are chips and paint loss throughout.
This is a highly collectible tobacco item, perfect as a gift or for your own personal collection.
Side Note: The Star Tobacco cutters were manufactured by Griswold Manufacturing Company of Erie, PA, and the Enterprise Company of Philadelphia.

Marked: Star, Griswold Manufacturing Company of Erie, PA.
Measures: 18¾” long, 4½” wide at base, 7” tall.
Condition: the paint and the pin striping are worn in areas
