Amazing find: this rare hanging string holder. This string holder is designed to be mounted or hung from the ceiling. The store clerk or butcher would reach up, pull the string down, and secure their package in the days before tape was invented.
Circa, 1880
Measures: 12” tall, 9½” wide.
Condition: string is soiled on the outer layer, as shown.
