Antique Pair of Dietz Roadster Lanterns, Model-T Car Lamps,
Wonderful find: this pair of headlamps made by Dietz of Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 1840 in Brooklyn, New York, the R.E. Dietz Company manufactured lanterns. Transitioned in the early 1900s to automotive lanterns.
These are an amazing find; they are right- and left-mount lanterns with clear head lenses and red rear lenses. They are as found, minus some dust and dirt. The interior of the lanterns is in wonderful condition; they even have the original flat wicks. The front lens is mounted in a brass frame with a brass hinge and clasp. The interior reflector pan is removable for easy cleaning and access to the rear red lens; the mounting brackets are made of 3/4" solid steel.
We only clean the brass in spots to show that it is brass; the insides of the lanterns are as found. We did lightly oil all surfaces as a precaution.

Circa: 1900-1920
Marked: Dietz.
Measures: 10 ¼” tall, 6½” depth, 5” wide without bracket.
Condition: Exterior shows paint loss, scuffs, and dents, as shown in the pictures. Lenses are solid, with a couple of light scuffs.
