Amazing find: this early 1900s Western Electric Sewing Machine is a clone of the 1870s Willcox and Gibbs. When the patent on the Willcox and Gibbs machine expired, several manufacturers cloned it, including National Sewing Machine Company, which we believe made this machine and branded it with the Western Electric Company's name. This machine has some parts with the Willcox and Gibbs name, and it uses a Willcox and Gibbs needle.
The machine comes with the original wood carrying case, an instruction book, and attachments. The serial number on the machine is 43125. The serial number on the attachment box matches. For storage, the motor pivots around toward the center of the machine.
It sews wonderfully with a single thread, creating a chain-stitch pattern. The machine has been cleaned and serviced.

Measures: case 15” x 12½” x 9¼”, machine 13½” x 7½” at base; 28 pounds.
Condition: runs very smoothly; the electrical cords and plugs show age and need replacing. The foot pedal is not the original. The case has damage on the bottom and is missing a section of one clasp, no key. The machine is over 100 years old and shows paint chips and scuffs.
