Crockett Western Spurs, Cowboy Spurs
Wonderful Oscar Crockett Western Spurs. These are polished aluminum spurs with scrollwork on the outer heel band and silver-capped strap buttons.
The spurs are both marked (Crockett) on the bottom edge. The heel bands have about a 2 ½” spread, with a 2¼” shank carrying a 1-5/8” diameter eight-point star Rowel with rounded tips.
History,
One of the better-known names when it comes to antique and vintage western spurs. The Oscar Crockett Spurs have been around since the 1920s, when they started in Kansas City. Oscar passed away in 1949. Oscar’s wife, Hazel, continued to operate the company until 1951, when she sold it to James Renalde, who branded the spurs (CR) Crockett-Renalde. The company finally closed in the 1980s.
Circa: 1930-40s
Condition: very nice condition, a couple of scuffs and scratches from use; we have lightly cleaned. Leather straps are worn.
