Antique Jolly Time Pop Corn, Popping Oil Wooden Shipping Crate
Wonderful find: this early 1900s wooden shipping crate was used by the Jolly Time Popcorn Company of Sioux City, Iowa. The crate is made of wood and nailed together; it has the Jolly Time Pop Corn name on two opposite sides.
Measures 15” tall, 11” x 10¼” square.
Will make a great addition to the home theater décor or kitchen décor.
History,
Jolly Time Pop Corn began in 1914 when founder Cloid H. Smith and his son hand-shelled corn in a Sioux City, Iowa basement. It remains the oldest family-owned popcorn producer in the United States. In 1925, it earned the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval and held it longer than any other food product in history.
Circa: 1920-30s
Measures: 15” tall, 11” x 10¼” square. Inside measurements are 14½” x 9½” x 9½”.
Condition: solid and rustic.
