Firestone Tire Amber Depression Glass Ashtray
Wonderful find: this depression glass ashtray was made by the Firestone Tire Company of Akron, Ohio.
The outer tire is a 1920 Balloon Tire made by Firestone Rubber and is still very pliable. The Amber (also called Topaz or Golden Amber) Depression glass was produced during the 1920s and 1930s, during the Great Depression.
The glass has raised lettering in the center with the Firestone Logo. The glass has air bubbles and grains of sand embedded in it. This is very common with antique glass.
Circa: 1920-30s.
Marked: Firestone.
Measures: 5¾” diameter, 1¾” tall.
Condition: Glass is wonderful; rubber is pliable; has splatter paint on the bottom side of the rubber tire.
