We have for sale a Pair of Vintage Kelly 5 Point Rowel Texas Spurs
A great pair of vintage Kelly Texas style spurs these would have been made between 1939 -1960 These are a one piece construction nickel plated and have plain finish, the outer swing button is much larger than the inner and has a fancy edging, the Kelly name is stamped below the inner swing button.
Dimensions; The rowel (star) measures 1-1/4” diameter, shank is 1-1/2” long, the arms measure 3-1/2” apart.
Condition; Spurs are in nice condition with normal scuffs and scratches from use, leather straps are old and worn and dry.
History;
Pascal Moreland Kelly born 1886 died 1976 was the maker of famous sets of Cowboy Spurs.
He started making spurs at the age of 17 and started his own company in Kelly and his sons managed and ran the business until it was bought by James Renalde in 1965. The Kelly brand was made until the business closed in 1980.
