We have for sale an Antique 1880 Birchs’ Belfast Round Bottom Soda Bottle , ginger ale
This is a wonderful example of an antique round bottom soda / ginger ale bottle from Belfast Ireland has molded raised lettering ( Birchs’ Belfast ) also has a R on the round bottom (assuming it means registered / patented)
This is a cork top bottle aqua in color, this is a molded blow glass with an applied lip does have air bubbles in glass.
Why the round bottom, these bottles were used for carbonated soda / ginger ale, the bottle was corked and wire tied similar to a champagne bottle if the bottle stood up the cork would dry out and the soda would go flat losing its carbonation so the round bottom bottle which you cannot stand up as invented.
Era; 1865 - 1880
Measures 9 ¾” inches long
Condition is very good and clear no cracks or chips, does have a little debris inside the bottle.
