We have for sale a Rare Griswold NO1 Cast Iron Mailbox with Newspaper Holder
This is a wonderful find a very rare early version of Griswold No 1 mailbox made of cast iron with metal back. Has an upper door for inserting mail and a front door for retrieving mail also has lower newspaper loops. Mailbox is solid, both doors function freely and front door latches. Yes this is the same company that made the collectible cast iron cookware they were also know for several other cast iron household items.

Era: 1890 – 1900
Measures overall: 13.5” tall, 6” wide, 4.5” deep
Markings: Upper door- Griswold No 1, 382. Front door 381

Condition: very good condition no brakes or cracks in the cast iron doors open freely, has been painted a couple time is panted a flat black color now. Metal back shows light wear and surface rust but very solid.
