From back in the day when you needed a corkscrew to open a beer bottle this is an early 1900s advertising corkscrew made by the Walker Co. USA, the advertising is for the Wm J Lemp Brewing Co., St. Louis Mo. for their Beer.

Made by; Walker Co.
Marked; Wm J Lemp Brewing Co.St. Louis Mo., on both sides of handle
Measures; 5.5” long, 3.625” wide at handle.
Condition; Good for age, wear on graphics please see pictures.

History:
The bottle cap wasn’t invented until the 1892 by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore. Before the cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including beer bottles. The bottle cap was not widely used until into the 20th Century.
