We have for sale an Antique 1890s Fehr’s Tonic, Louisville KY, Advertising Corkscrew
From back in the day when you needed a corkscrew to open a beer bottle this is an early 1890s advertising corkscrew made by the Williamsons Co Newark N. J. USA, the advertising is for the Fehr’s Tonic, Louisville KY for their Malt Tonic Beer.

Patented in Aug.10th 1897 in the U.S.A. for W. A. Williamson, Nr. 587.900

Marked; Fehr’s Tonic, Louisville KY on both sides of handle.
Measures; 6” long, 3.625” wide at handle
Condition; Good for age, wear on graphics, surface rust on metal please see pictures.

History:
The bottle cap wasn’t invented until the 1892 by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore. Before the cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including beer bottles. The bottle cap was not widely used until into the 20th Century.
