We have for sale a Pair of Vintage Herters 12 Gauge Shotgun Shell Salt and Pepper Shakers, Red Bakelite
Rare 1930s Herters 12 Gauge shotgun shell salt and pepper shakers made with brass centerfire cups and the red hull is made of Bakelite / Celluloid the red top section unscrews from the bottom brass base both pieces are threaded very nicely.
I have personally owned these for the past 15 years and have never seen another pair. I am pretty sure these are Bakelite I did test and it was positive but will say Celluloid / Bakelite.

Measures; 2 3/8” tall, 7/8” diameter at base
Condition: Very nice condition

History;
Before Cabela’s, or Wal-Mart, where did the serious fisherman (or woman) get supplies? From 1930 until the early 1970s, the answer was the mail order company located in Waseca, Minnesota – Herter’s. Herters was the first hunting and fishing retail store if they couldn’t find a manufacturer of a product they made their own, they even made a snowmobile The Herters Husky.
