We have for sale an Original Antique 1873 Wolverson's English Patented (The Tangent Lever)
This is an original Edwin Wolverson's English registered design 5,500, Patented Nov. 4, 1873 (correct configuration)

This is known as a Two part Single Lever Corkscrew made of steel with brass hinges.
You turn the worm (corkscrew) into the cork then place the lever on the top of the bottle hooking the corkscrew then squeeze the handle and out pops the cork.

Measures, 7.5” long Lever, 3.875” Screw
Condition; good for its age typical light tarnish most of the original bronze-wash is gone, the tang on the lever has a slight bend still functions nicely.
