We have for sale an Antique 26” Reeves Wood Split Pulley Wheel
Wonderful Industrial Décor piece an antique Split Pulley Wheel made by Reeves Company of Columbus Indiana it measures 26” diameter and 6 ½” wide with a 3 ¼” center bore. The Reeves name is still visible on the center hub of the pulley. The pulley is made up of several pieces of hardwood which gives it more strength then a single piece of wood and steel bolts to clamp the wheel to the motor that ran it, this one also have a steel weight on the inside which was a balance weight much like the ones you see on car tires of today.
These were widely used in anywhere from factories to farms. In factories to run several machines off on motor or at the farm as a vintage power take off to run machinery and implements
History:
The company was founded by Marshall Truman Reeves in 1869 as the Hoosier Boy Cultivator Co. and was renamed to Reeves & Co. in about 1879 and then incorporated in 1888. The company was sold to the Emerson-Brantingham Co., of Rockford, Illinois, in August of 1912. The Reeves name was still used into the 1960s.

Condition; Vintage with dents dings years of use. It is very solid with no major damage just normal wear. Very typical on these is to have one side better then the other, the side that faced the machine it was attached to usually received more ding and dents. We have cleaned and oiled the wood.

This is a very cool item. Great vintage patina. Securely packed and shipped. Seeing this in person has generated multiple new ideas for re-purposing. Very pleased with purchase and entire transaction as always---satisfied repeat customer.
