We have for sale an Antique Anheuser Busch Bottle Shaped Corkscrew.
Wonderful 1897 Advertisement Bottle made by the Williamson Company of Newark NJ. The Advertisement is for Anheuser Busch Beer.
Made of nickel-plated brass with a brass name plate on the front. The nameplate reads; Anheuser Busch. The base of the bottle is marked (Williamson Co. Newark NJ. Patented Applied For).
This design of corkscrew was patented by the Williamson Company of Newark NJ on June 1, 1897. This corkscrew is marked, Patent Applied For meaning is a first addition of the design before the patent date.
The condition of this corkscrew is amazing with only very minor scratches on the finish.

History Note:
Why would Anheuser Busch advertise with a corkscrew like this? The bottle cap wasn’t invented until the 1892 by the Crown Cork Co. of Baltimore and not widely used until into the early 1900s. Before the bottle cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including Medicines, Perfumes and Alcohol.
