We have for sale an Antique Dynamite Ditching Wood Shipping Crate
Wonderful Wood Shipping Crate. As you can imagine there are not too many of these crates left. The original use was to carry ditch blasting Dynamite which was very explosive.
History:
Ditching Dynamite, A dynamite containing 50% nitroglycerin, deliberately made shock-sensitive so it can be used for commercial excavation without complex interconnection, relying on sympathetic detonation to fire all charges.
Circa; 1920s
Marked; Dynamite Ditching 50 N.G.
Measures; 18 ¼” x 12” x 8 ½” tall.
Condition; Nice vintage condition, with dents and dings from use. No Lid. Shows wear. We have lightly cleaned and sealed the wood with oil to keep the wood from drying out. Please see all pictures.
