We have for sale a 1940s Syroco Wood Corkscrew, The Old Codger
Wonderful mid-century barware piece. The Old Codger made by the Syracuse Ornamental Company (Syroco) of Syracuse, New York. This is known as the Old Codger Figural in a Stained Walnut Finish this was also available in a painted version.


Circa; 1940-50
Measures; 8.5” tall
Condition; Very clean condition with very minimal wear, some stain lose as shown, very normal for this finish. Please see all pictures.

History,
Made by the Syracuse Ornamental Company (Syroco) of Syracuse, New York they are made up of a composition of wood powder and thermoset resin set up in a compression mold, these were believed to have been made between 1940-1950. Some of the figures were painted while others were stained with a walnut finish.
The steel corkscrew and bells were supplied by Williamson Company of Newark, New Jersey.
