Antique Miniature Apothecary Corkscrew.
Wonderful find this tiny corkscrew used to remove corks from medicine and perfume bottles. Medical and perfume bottles used corks into the early 1900s.
The corkscrew is made of nickel-plated steel, the bow / hoop is a spring the holds tension on the corkscrew with the corkscrew is folded out or in it locks into place with notches at the pivot point. The screw is known as a bladed worm design with sharp edges that cut through the cork with ease.

History,
The bottle cap was not invented until 1892 by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore. Before the cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including Medicines, Perfumes and Alcohol. The corkscrew was invented Circa 1700s and still used today.

Measures, 1 ½” long closed, 2 ¼” long with screw folded out.
Condition, Very good condition, minor scuffs light plating lose.
