We have for sale an Antique Travel Thermos Set in Case
Wonderful find this 1917 Universal thermos set made by the Landers Frary and Clark of New Britain CONN. USA. The thermoses are made of chrome platted brass and tin with glass inserts. The coffee thermos has a cork stopper and a screw off lid which can be used as a cup. The soup thermos has a screw off lid with a folding carry handle on top, the original cork stopper has been replaced with a 1944 snap-tite rubber seal which is in wonderful condition. This beautiful set is in amazing condition with only a few scuffs and scratches on the polished chrome, the fabric wrapped wood case has two clasps with keys and solid leather handle, the case does show wear throughout but very solid.
To put this set in perspective in 1917 there were no fast-food restaurants or drive throughs. If you traveled you packed your own food and drink, this travel set would carry warm soup and coffee for your trip.

Measures, case 15” x 9” x 4 ½” coffee thermos 13 ½” tall, soup thermos 13 ¾” tall with handle up.
Condition, very good for age, there are scuff and scratches as show in pictures. Coffee thermos has noise inside, but glass is solid. Please see all pictures.
