Intriguing vintage Rescue V device made by Southfield Products Corp of Glen Cove, NY. In original box with original instructions. We cannot find any information on the product or the company. Please see all photographs as they are part of the description. Due to its age and lack of history we do not recommend this for the use they advertise. Use only as a display item.
Old style typed instructions consistent with 1950s Korean War or 1960s Vietnam War eras. From the included literature: “RESCUE V was initially developed for use by the US Air Force as a means of escape for pilots who were forced to parachute to safety but found themselves entangled in tall trees over the jungles of Southeast Asia.”
Wonderful piece of obscure history. Fabulous gift for your firefighter or military hero!
