We have for sale an Antique Enterprise Cork Roller Press #1
Beautiful 1860s apothecary piece. This is a hand operated cork roller for compressing corks to fit into medicine bottles, made by the Enterprise Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia.
You lift the handle and place a moistened cork into the roller by pushing the handle down the cork would compress to the size bottle you needed it to fit. This would have been found in Pharmacy’s and Drug stores across America in the mid-1800s. Made of cast iron.
The condition of this roller is wonderful with its original paint and pinstriping it is a piece of art from a time long past.
Enterprise made two sizes of these presses #1 and #2, the #2 is much larger.

Marked, No. 1, Enterprise Manufacturing Company Phila.
Measures, 9 1/2" long, 5" tall, 2 1/2" wide.
Condition, Very Good with some paint chips from use. Please see all pictures.
