We have for sale a Silver Thimble with Floral band Size 8
Wonderful Silver Thimble made in the USA by the Simon Brothers Company of Philadelphia PA. This vintage size 8 thimble made of nickel silver with an intricate floral band from the estate sale of a seamstress. Marked on the inside with USA, S.B.C. and 8 (the size).
Great collectible or gift for the seamstress or tailor, and practical and handy as well! Back in the day, a thimble was always in grandmas sewing tools since there always used to be a steady supply of repairs needed in the family mending bag. A woman sitting mending was a common sight, and so were thimbles.
It is in very good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use and has a wonderful, aged patina. Please see all photographs as they are part of the description.
