We have for sale an Antique 1890s Williamsons Wood Handle Advertising Corkscrew
Wonderful piece of Whiskey history, this Jacob Dudenhoefer Importer and Distiller corkscrew. Jacob Dudenhoefer from Milwaukee Wisconsin and was in business from 1889 to 1918 and was known for his whiskeys , some of the brands he produced where Bonfield, Elmbrook, Hunting & Fishing Club Rye, Nigh Hawk, Tonical Herb Bitters, and Yellow Springs.

The Corkscrew was manufactured by the Williamson’s Company of Newark NJ.
Another interesting detail on the corkscrew was it was sold by Donker & Williamsons Co. of Chicago ILL. They were one of the areas largest Advertising Novelties company’s.
Why a corkscrew for whiskey ? The bottle cap was not invented until the late 1800s by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore and not highly used until into the early 1900s Before the cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including Medicines, Perfumes and Alcohol.

Measures, 4 ¼” Long, 3 ¾” wide.
