Antique Corkscrew, Old Times Whiskey Advertising Corkscrew.
This is a wonderful old corkscrew with the advertisement for “Old Times Whiskey” Frist Prize World’s Fair on its wooden handle.
The corkscrew is known as a self-pull (just keep turning the handle and it will pull the cork.

Why a corkscrew for whiskey? The bottle cap was not invented until the late 1800s by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore and not highly used until into the early 1900s Before the cap was introduced most all bottles had corks including Medicines, Perfumes and Alcohol.

Circa, Early 1900s
Measures 6" long, 3 ¾” wide.
Marked, Williamson’s Newark NJ. Pat. 1897 (stamped in end of wood handle)
Condition, good for its age with lettering wear and metal finish wear. Please see all pictures.
